Fremont, Fairs and cornhole

Afton had a wonderful visit to Fremont last weekend. She visited the Sandusky County Fair where she explored the animal barns, the midway and the collection house. Sean had his 2nd corn-dog ever and I won Afton a Yo Gabba Gabba prize at the baloon pop game.

After all the excitement at the fair we spent a relaxing day by the pool, playing cornhole, having some drinks and visiting Uncle Ashley and Uncle Matt.

My First Cold...

Poor Afton got her very first cold this week. I am pretty sure this is a result of spending a few hours in the day care at the gym( which she is now banned from until the cold goes away).
It is amazing that such a small girl can produce so much snot. She is on good spirits most of the time but is capable of snapping at a moments notice. I can't blame the poor girl, I hear her waking up stuffed up all night.
We are hoping for a quick recovery!

10 Months Old!!

I know this is cliché but, I can not believe she is growing up so fast! Afton is 10 months old. It is amazing. She is learning so much and changing every day. 

New This Month- So much is new. Afton is clapping, crying to get what she wants, pointing, teething, cruising all over, dancing, splashing, head butting, climbing stairs...

Halloween is near

Afton has started to growl, it is actually really funny. I think she is preparing for her halloween costume...
"I want to play with you..."

yes, it is me growling at the beginning but the last two are all her.

Single Mother

This past weekend Sean had his "mancation" with Adeep leaving me as a single mother for a few days. Afton and I had tons of fun! Grandma Gabel came down for a visit on Saturday giving me some much needed adult company and taking over baby duties so I could get our house in order.

Afton enjoyed her first trip to the Children's museum. Though she could not really participate in most of the activities she was really into the water room. She managed to soak herself and a few other kids around her.

Though we got through the weekend without any issues, we were both very happy to have Sean back home.

Rogers Family Vacation

We had a great time on vacation in Michigan. Our days were filled with going to the beach, having cocktails and awesome dinners and then going to be exhausted. Miss Afton decided to give up sleeping on vacation. Only later did we fine out she was getting her first tooth that week....and apparently is immune to Tylenol..

We capped off the week with a visit to Fremont where we enjoyed the beautiful pool and a nice visit with Aunt Liz.

Afton Celebrates

Afton enjoyed her first 4th of July. She had a lovely visit with her Grandma and Grandpa Gabel and then got to see her Chicago cousins and Aunt and Uncle and Grandma and Pap at her very first Crafton Celebrates!!
Luckily fire works do not seem to wake her up. We are very luck considering there are fireworks 52 weeks a year here!

9 months old!!

Oh Miss Afton- 9 months already! She is growing like a weed...
19.8 lbs.
29 1/2 inches

The doctor says she is right on track and was impressed with her skills. She also got the brave baby award after getting pricked for a blood test and not making a peep. She just looked at at the equipment taking it in. 
She is strong like her mom! Her father on the other hand would have gone into a cold sweat and possible passed out...

New This Month- Afton has learned to crawl. She love standing up and pulling up in her crib. She had a hard time getting herself back down at first but after a few days she got the hang of it. Of coarse, this led to sleep probelms, but what doesn't lead to sleep problems these days....Grandpa Gabel taught her to cough as a joke, she loves telling that one.
Favorite things- Her Drum, coughing, Steve, her stand up toy, puffs and cheese.
Favorite Song of the Month- "Forget You" Gnarles Barkley - unfortunately we do not have the edited version yet...
Favorite Car Song- Hello Dolly (dubbed the miracle song because it always stops her from crying)- still working!!
Favorite Food- Cheese, Bread/Bagels, Tofu and Spinach
Favorite Toy- Drum Sticks, her shaking egg and Steve
Favorite Book- Bathtime Peek-A Boo 
Favorite Words- MAMAMAM, DADADDADA, AACCKK, SSTTTT
What Makes her Laugh- She laughs at herself coughing and farting.

Dear Afton

Dear Afton,
I am so sorry I have been slacking on your blog. I intended to update this several times a week and I can see it has been over a month. In my defense you have not been the ideal sleeper you used to be. I am not sure what happened but once you hit 6-7 months it all went to hell. Now that we are back from Vacation and your first tooth has emerged, I am hoping you have finally broken out of your nighttime jerk phase (don't worry you are still awesome during the day).  I will do several updates this weekend to get us up to speed and then hopefully finish out this first year strong.  I only ask that you keep up your end of the deal and continue with the sleep.
